Childrens Licencing
Amateur show Childrens Licencing This applies to our production of Oliver! June 2012
I have just been informed by Southend Council that they can provide a licence which encompasses all the children no matter where they live and so we do not have to do seperate licences.
All I need you to do is to complete a form which I will hand out on Sunday, regarding your childs health.
There is one downside to this though, we can only have licenced chaperones looking after the Children. We always struggle with this and if we don't have enough they will not allow us to put on the show a minimum of 9 chaperones per show are needed. Therefore if you can help out during show week please get in touch with your council (Essex or Southend) as soon as possible as they have to apply for references and I believe that Essex interview you as well.
The licences last for two years so you can use them if you help out with any other production as well.
If your child attends a dance/stage school, you may find that some of the other parents have chaperone licences already. If they do and would be happy to help us out please ask them to get in touch.
You do not need to have a chaperone licence to help out backstage with scenery and props though. We need a minimum of 8 helpers every show backstage.
We will be organising a schedule so you don't have to help out every night, you can still see your child perform.
