Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Work Will I Get?

Some people may get work within days of registering with the agency, for others it can take a lot longer. We never know what the production companies, advertising agencies or casting directors will be looking for next and what their exact criteria will be, so we cannot (and will not) make any guarantees to anyone.

We know this sounds obvious but please remember, if a production company are looking for a dark, tall, older male with a beard and you are a young male we can not book you for that role, if we did we would not be used again!

If you have booked yourself out with us due to other work commitments, holidays, appointments etc we will not offer you work during that period of time. Also you can only work on each production once, unless you are booked for continuity. On productions such as The Bill, EastEnders etc there has to be at least a 13 week gap between when you last worked on the production and when you could be booked. This is always verified by the production company and if it is less than the required gap you will be cancelled, so please be totally honest.

What should I Inform The Agency Of?

Please advise us immediately if you:    change your address (a signed letter via post please)
                                                        change your telephone number
are unavailable for work for any reason
change your look (hair length/colour, loose/gain weight, remove/grow a beard)

How Will I Find Out if There Is Any Work For Me?

We presume all our artistes are available unless they book themselves out with us. We will therefore suggest you for castings and productions as and when appropriate and will then telephone you as soon as a production that you are suitable for is confirmed or if we have been requested to pencil you for certain dates.

When you have been booked, please keep a note of the name of the production, the rates of pay, when you have been booked and when you should telephone for your call details.

What Happens When I have Been Booked For A Production?

On the working day prior to your booking, you must telephone the office on 01702 437118 between 1600 and 1700 hrs to obtain your call details (I.E. the location, time and costume requirements). Please note that if you are working on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, you must telephone the office on a Friday.

Please be patient as sometimes the lines do get very busy during this period of time because there may be a lot of people calling us for different productions. We can not spend time chatting or giving directions to people for this very reason so please understand we are not being rude or unhelpful we are just trying to give everything we have been told to everyone as quickly as possible.

Also please make sure you have a pen or pencil and paper available to you when you phone or you will be asked to call back.

There are several links on this website which may be of assistance to you when trying to find locations or studio addresses, so please visit our links page which is updated regularly to help you as much as possible.

When Can I Expect To Be Paid?

On average most productions take 6-8 weeks to pay us. However, commercials can take a couple of months.

Upon receipt of the monies from the production company we will forward payment to you (by cheque) less the agreed rate of commission and any other agreed deductions, within ten working days as per our Terms and Conditions and the current DTI regulations.

Should you not receive payment for a production after 8 weeks, we would suggest you contact the office on 01702 437118 between 1000 hrs and 1200 hrs just to ensure that a cheque has not been lost in the post.

How Long Is My Agreement With The Agency?

Our current contracts expire 31/05/12.

What Does The Agency Expect From Me?

Professionalism and courtesy to all staff in the office and crew even after 40 takes on one scene!
For you to be available as much as possible so we can offer you the opprotunity of work whenever appropriate
If you are booked for a production, you are expected to honour it. Even if a better paid job comes up
If there is a problem on set, please tell us. We can not deal with something if we are told two days later.
